Tate Elementary School (Van Buren School District) – Success Stories

2019-2020  Tate Elementary school used ISEP funds to provide the school nurse needed supplies for the Nurses office.

2018-2019  Tate Elementary School utilized ISEP funds along with other grants to purchase a greenhouse.  Tate Elementary School wanted to expand their gardening efforts beyond the few months of warmer weather and produce more in the garden during the winter months.  This would help sustain the gardening and education efforts of the students through the years.

Working with a local builder, a 4 foot by 12 foot greenhouse was built to last.  Spring plants were able to be started in the greenhouse making them able to plant the spring plants on time.  Students sold the plants as a fundraiser for the greenhouse and raised over $100.  Many of the students were given plants to plant at their own homes.  This helps students take better care of their gardens at home, and have more access to fresh food.
